I’ve been meaning to try crocheting with beads for quite a while now. Finally did it. I challenged myself to do it with out any patterns or u-tube. I just wanted to see what I could do all on my own. I’m happy with it.
I like the way this one is slightly three dimensional.
I purchased the book “Modern Crochet Mandalas”, by the Editors at Interweave. Here is the first one, called Harvest Moon. It is designed by Stephanie White. It was not the easiest pattern to follow, but not too bad either.
This stitch is basically a combination of the two previous stitches.
This one is more difficult to make then the last one, though looks very similar.
Edie Eckman challenged her followers do make granny squares. She showed one example, and she provided the pattern. The rest was up to us. Here is a link to her original post.
First, I did it in a variegated yarn.
Then, I crocheted each row in a different color. I was going for a flower look, but I think I missed. Didn’t have three shades of any color in yarn I wanted to use.
I could have gone on to make more, but I have so many other things to do…
This one is a little bit three dimensional. I like that.
